Radon

When radioactive metals break down in rocks, soil and groundwater, the gas that forms is Radon. Radon enters our environments through gaps and cracks in buildings or underground duct work and can cause health complications like lung cancer over time.

Because of the risks associated with radon, testing has become more common in real estate transactions and HUD has released a radon policy that applies to their multi-family residential buildings, or apartments. The policy includes following the American National Standards Institute/American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (ANSI/AARST) radon testing standards when testing is being conducted.

Radon testing is typically conducted over a 48hr time period, but can also be tested for longer periods of time. Contact RESA for a quote on your commercial, multi-family or residential property.
